Monkton Goals and Actions for
2008-2009
Goal We recognize that with our changing student population,
we need to continue to develop the expertise of both support staff
and teachers to meet the diverse needs of all our students. This
overarching goal means we will increase the ability of staff to
recognize students’ different needs and design curriculum and
interventions to maximize instruction. We will develop systems using
the PBIS model throughout this process.
Goal = Interventions Develop social and academic interventions to
assist needy students
Purpose: To provide all students with the tools needed to succeed
with academic and social learning.
Goal = Science Review our NECA Science data and determine what we
may need to do to improve student learning and our science teaching
and program.
Goals = Non fiction Writing 1) Determine how well our non-fiction
writing process
is working at MCS.
2) Develop our Standards of Practice for Non-Fiction Writing.
Goal = Mapping Determine how to use our mapping process at MCS to
effectively help coordinate our curriculum.
